Waiting on Wednesday (2)

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine.

This week I can't wait till Alpha by Rachel Vincent comes out!!

 Alpha's release date is Sept 28th 2010

This series is very hard to put down. The first book was slightly hard to get through mostly since Fathye Sanders is annoying and whinny, but towards the end, and the rest of the books were great. The 5th book Shift is my favorite book. I love all of these covers, I just think their all gorgeous.

Alpha is the sixth and final Shifters book. The culmination of everything Faythe and I (Rachel Vincent)  have been working for in the Shifters universe. All the plotlines will be tied up. All the decisions will be made. No one will remain unchanged. Not everyone will survive.

It's gonna be one hell of a ride.

I didn't put whats on the back cover since there is a spoiler if you didn't read Shift. So I added the synopsis for Stray, the 1st book

Stray
I look like an all-American grad student. But I am a werecat, a shape-shifter, and I live in two worlds.
Despite reservations from my family and my Pride, I escaped the pressure to continue my species and carved out a normal life for myself. Until the night a Stray attacked.
I'd been warned about Strays—werecats without a Pride—constantly on the lookout for someone like me: attractive, female and fertile. I fought him off, but then learned two of my fellow tabbies had disappeared.
This brush with danger was all my Pride needed to summon me back…for my own protection. Yeah, right. But I'm no meek kitty. I'll take on whatever—and whoever—I have to in order to find my friends. Watch out, Strays—'cause I got claws, and I'm not afraid to use them….

Also if your not familiar with the series, here are the other covers:

Cover of the Week (3)

I know I haven't been on in a while, due to being sick. Between something with sinuses and needing glasses
I haven't been able to read or look at a screen without getting a massive headache and nausea.
To preoccupy my time I've been playing with our baby bun Turner. And like every other parent...I HAVE to show the pics...
Isn't he just the cutest?? He's a 1 1/2yr old mini lop bun.So clearly it didn't suck as bad, not being able to read for the past week. It's so hard not to hold and squish him lol. Soon we will have another one.. a lil girl-friend for Turner. Bunnies are just the greatest pets.

Okay now back to books.

Cover of the Week is hosted by The Hiding Spot

Ranger's Apprentice, Halt's Peril by John Flanagan
The renegade outlaw group known as the Outsiders may have been chased from Clonmel, but not before killing HaltÕs only brother. Now Rangers Halt and Will, along with the young warrior Horace, are in pursuit. The Outsiders have done an effective job of dividing the kingdom into factions and are looking to overtake Araluen. It will take every bit of skill and cunning for the Rangers to survive. Some may not be so lucky.
The international bestselling Ranger's Apprentice series turns up the tension in John Flanagan's latest epic of battles and bravery.

It's has a nice cover. I love the greens and blues, in the forest setting. Especially with the olden medieval archer's suit. Of course this is the 9th book in the series, so here is the description for the 1st book:

Ranger's Apprentice, The Ruins of Gorlan by John Flanagan
He had always wanted to be a warrior. The Rangers, with their dark cloaks and shadowy ways, made him nervous. The villagers believe the Rangers practice magic that makes them invisible to ordinary people. And now fifteen year-old Will, always small for his age, has been chosen as a Ranger’s apprentice. What he doesn’t realize yet is that the Rangers are the protectors of the kingdom. Highly trained in the skills of battle and surveillance, they fight the battles before the battles reach the people. And as Will is about to learn, there is a large battle brewing. The exiled Morgarath, Lord of the Mountains of Rain and Night, is gathering his forces for an attack on the kingdom. This time, he will not be denied . . . .

Cover of the Week (2)

Cover of the week is hosted by The Hiding Spot
Darkest Mercy- Melissa Marr
Release date- Feb 22, 2011
This week the cover goes to Melissa Marr's Darkest Mercy. This is the fifth and sadly final book to the Wicked Lovely series. Now all her covers are absolutely gorgeous ( the cover is what actually caught my attention to read Wicked Lovely in the first place.) but this one is my favorite. On the cover is Donia. Love how the white and purple just go together so nicely.

Those who are not familiar with the other books, these are the covers:

Book Blog Hop!! (1)

Book Blog Hop is hosted by Crazy-for-Books
This week's question is from Sara @ Sarareadstomuch

Do you judge a book by it's cover?

Most of the time I do judge by the cover if I'm browsing in the library or the bookstore. If it catches my eye I will definitely look into it more. Though the cover doesn't matter as much if someone recommends the book. It also comes down to the name. If the name sounds like it's worth a look then I'll look into it more regardless of the cover.
